World Class Sport Fishing – Tag & Release

Watamu has some of the best all round deep sea sport fishing in the world. The area offers fantastic Marlin fishing even for experienced fisherman from December to March and from July to August. The sailfish run from September through to January, when five or more sailfish seen in a day is not uncommon. There are many other species such as Yellow Fin Tuna, Wahoo & Dorado, to keep you entertained.

Watamu boast the worlds' first Fantasy Slam consisting of a Black Marlin, a Blue Marlin, a striped Marlin, a Broad Bill Swordfish and Sailfish all being caught in one day. Medina Palms offers you a fine selection of sport fishing boats with experienced skippers to charter, where both the expert and the novice can enjoy the delights of this exciting sport. There are regular tournaments in the area offering the chance of winning a place on the IGFA World Championship Event held annually in Mexico.
